History

Launched in late 2021 as a spectacular finale for the 4-cylinder Ford Ranger Raptor, the Special Edition was produced in limited numbers to ensure exclusivity. At just £900 more than the standard Raptor, it offered remarkable value with its comprehensive upgrade package including front-to-rear racing stripes, 17-inch black alloy wheels fitted with enormous 33-inch tyres, red recovery hooks and enhanced interior trim. The SE retained all the mechanical prowess of the regular Raptor, featuring the impressive 10-speed automatic transmission, towering 283mm ground clearance and sophisticated Fox Position Sensitive Damping.

The Special Edition's commanding design incorporated LED headlights, a matte black grille and door handles, whilst the integrated black sports hoop and lockable Mountain Top roller shutter added both practicality and showroom appeal. Despite its rugged off-road capability, the Raptor SE proved equally adept on tarmac, equipped with intelligent speed assistance, lane keeping aid and collision mitigation systems that contributed to its maximum five-star Euro NCAP safety rating.
