What is the Hobby Rewards loyalty programme?

Hobby Rewards is the brand-new Hornby Hobbies customer loyalty program that will operate across all of our own brands (Hornby, Scalextric, Airfix, Corgi, Humbrol, Pocher, Bassett-Lowke, Rivarossi, Lima, Jouef, Electrotren and Arnold). It is available to customers in the UK, EU and USA. Once you’ve joined, you get points for certain activities, including shopping online, completing surveys and following us on social media.

How do I join Hobby Rewards?

Hobby Rewards is free to join. If you are an existing member of any of our websites, simply visit the account page and create your Hobby Rewards account. New customers will need to create a new account – you can join Hobby Rewards on the same page. If you are unable to join online, you can contact our Customer Service team on 01843 233502 (Monday – Wednesday 9am - 5pm, Thursday – Friday: 9am – 3pm) and we will be able to create an account for you.

How do I earn Hobby Rewards points?

Once you have joined Hobby Rewards, you start earning points on any purchases on any of our websites. Depending on the currency of your purchases, you will earn 10 points for every £1, $1 or €1 spent. Points earned from a purchase will be available on your account to spend 14 working days after receipt of your product. You can also earn points for other activities, such as completing questionnaires, referring friends and following us on social media. Not all of these additional point-earning activities will be available at launch. Points earned for these activities will be immediately available in your account.

How much are Hobby Rewards points worth?

Each point is worth 1 pence or 1 cent, depending on your chosen currency. For example, a £75 purchase will earn you 750 points, which can then be redeemed for £7.50 off a future purchase. You will effectively earn 10% back in points on any purchase they make.

What are pending points?

Points earned for in-stock purchases will appear as pending until the end of our 14-working day return period. Pending points will become active after this time. Should you choose to return any items in your order, the pending points will be withdrawn. Points earned on pre-orders will also show as pending in your account. These points cannot be used until they become active, 14 working days after receipt of the relevant product.

How do I redeem Hobby Rewards points?

Points can be redeemed against any purchase on any of our websites. You will be advised of your current active points balance on the payment page of our checkout, at which point you can choose whether to use your points towards your purchase. You’ll also be able to spend points on non-Hornby Hobbies purchases and activities. When these become available, the use of points for these will be detailed in your Hobby Rewards account area.

When will points for my purchases be added into my account?

Points earned from a purchase will be available on your account to spend 14 working days after you have received your product. Points earned for other additional activities, such as completing a questionnaire, will be immediately available in your account.

Can I use my Club membership discount and earn points on my purchase at the same time?

Yes – your club membership discount will still be automatically applied at the checkout and you can redeem your points on the same purchase.

How can I check my points and available promotions?

Details on your active and pending points, as well as any exclusive offers and promotions, are detailed in your Hobby Rewards account after you have signed in.

What happens to points earned or redeemed on pre-orders?

You will earn points on any pre-orders. These will become active 14 working days after receipt of your product. During the wait for delivery of your pre-order, these points will appear as pending. You can also redeem any existing points on the purchase of your pre-order. The value of any points redeemed will be deducted from the price of your purchase and the reduced cost will be subsequently deducted from your bank account when we receive and dispatch the product. If you choose to cancel your pre-order prior to receiving your product, you will lose any points redeemed against that purchase.

Do Hobby Rewards points expire?

If your Hobby Rewards account is inactive for 24 months, the account will close and any points held against that account will expire. We will email you prior to that happening though. Your Hobby Rewards account will be considered inactive if there have been no points earned or redeemed within the 24-month period.

How do I redeem discounts or promotional codes for Hobby Rewards exclusives? 

Details of redemption details for all non-Hornby Hobbies purchases are detailed on the relevant page in your Hobby Rewards account. In most instances, we will email you redemption details following a claim against an offer or discount through the account.
